Founded in June 2004, Association for Advanced Studies, Innovation and Entrepreneurship integrates three leading faculties of science in Bulgaria – the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the Faculty of German Engineering Education & Industrial Management at Technical University – Sofia, the Faculty of Medicine at Medical University – Sofia, which are internationally distinguished and whose students are prepared to continue their education at the most prestigious universities all over the world. Association's partners are also business associations, business parks, the City Municipality , as well as some individuals.
In a very short period of time AASIE has drawn in 22 members and member organizations and created a network for cooperation between them, still being open for new partners.
AASIE has analogous structure and is close in activity to Gruender Regio M – Munich , known as one of the most effective organizations in the European Union with a focus on entrepreneurship. We work to better maximize the conditions for efficient know-how transfer from the region of Munich to the region of Sofia . Helped by Gruender Regio M, the region of Sofia was elected last year an associate member of PANEL–EU–Networ? (part of PAXIS).
This membership opens the opportunity know-how to be transferred not only from Munich , but also from the regions of Milan , Barcelona and Dublin , all of which are coordinated by Gruender Regio M.
Guiding Principles
AASIE is an initiative of both science and business in the region and aims at encouraging and fostering the development of knowledge-based join-ventures, spin-offs and start-ups, relevant to higher institutions.
We focus our efforts on guiding young, talented graduates from the universities of Bulgaria or abroad in their way from Academia toward Entrepreneurship and a successful business career. This is of great importance for Eastern Europe , where entrepreneurial skills are far less developed in comparison to those in the partner regions of Western Europe . |
